Our Picos de Europa road tour starts as well as finishes down by the Cantabrian sea. So the last day of planned cycling we pass through the breathtaking “Gorge of Hermida”
up to La Hoz pass and finaly descend for 40 km to the fishing village of San vicente de la Barquera from where for those who wish can continue along the coast. The route passes along beautiful beaches such as Merón, Gerra or the Nature Reserve of Oyambre beach. You can enjoy the beach and the beach bar to drink or eat or just rest tired muscles and relax. You can also make a short stop in the iconic Cantabrian village of Comillas to visit architecture sights such as the ‘El Palacio del Marques de Comillas’ or ‘El Capricho de Gaudí’ designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and another Cantabrian village a live museum of medieval age called Santillana del Mar. We finish in Suances to spend the night in a marvellous Surfhouse. This Surfhouse has six-bed sleeping rooms. If you prefer accommodation in one of our local hotels can be arranged for you (must be advised while booking).
